This 15-hectare park invites you to discover regional biodiversity you probably never even knew existed! Ponds, meadows, lakes, dunes—as you explore, you’ll wander through all these natural habitats. Here, you can learn more about all the different ecosystems found along the coast. This includes both the flora and the equally diverse fauna. Whether you follow the guide or go at your own pace, it’s up to you to choose how you’d like to approach your visit. Numerous nature-themed exhibits and activities are offered free of charge to the public throughout the year. As you can see, this park—designated as a Sensitive Natural Area (ESPAN) and part of the Adour Natura 2000 site, marking the end of the Landes dune spit—is well worth a visit, both to enjoy an experience in the heart of nature and to reflect on the importance of preserving it. In 2025, the Maison de l’Environnement will reopen its doors after a five-year closure, much to the delight of natural history exhibition enthusiasts! In 2020, the Maison de l’environnement was destroyed in the Pignada arson fire.

Let’s go! We mentioned the Relais de Chiberta in our top 5 restaurants in Anglet—a restaurant located on the grounds of an equestrian club. Well, this is it: the Basque Coast Equestrian Club, an organization that promotes animal welfare and the sport of horseback riding, and which—in addition to training riders—offers horseback or pony rides through the forest. Accompanied by an instructor, you can relax and explore the Pignada equestrian trail. A quick tip: wear appropriate clothing—no shorts or sandals. And don’t forget: say thank you to your horse once the ride is over!

Finally, you’ve got to try THE regional sport: Basque pelota. Here, you’ll get your first taste of the game under the watchful eye and with the guidance of a world champion in xare (one of the disciplines of pelota)! As a sport that encompasses several different games, Basque pelota can be played at any age, making it an ideal activity for families and friends alike. For those unfamiliar with it, the game is played against a wall, which might vaguely remind you of squash. So, are you tempted to put your athletic skills to the test? -> https://www.anglet-tourisme.com/fr/a-voir-a-faire/restaurants-sorties/idees-sorties-loisirs/pelote.php
