  • 2Day 2: Museums and Lively Districts
  • 3Day 3: The City and Alternative Neighbourhoods

London is one big playground: every neighbourhood has its own vibe and there’s always something new around the corner… But if you’ve only got three days, don’t panic! We’ve put together a smart itinerary that mixes legendary landmarks, lively districts, and quirkier spots. Follow the guide—you’ll see that three days is plenty to fall in love with the “Old Smoke.”

All our train itineraries to London by train

Day 1: London’s Classics

For your first steps in London, head to Westminster, the city’s historic and political heart. This is where you’ll find all the icons that spring to mind when you think of the British capital.

Start with Buckingham Palace. If you’re lucky, you can catch the famous Changing of the Guard. Just a stone’s throw away, continue with Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and Westminster Abbey—three unmissable symbols.

Then stroll along the Thames to the London Eye, the famous Ferris wheel that gives you sweeping views over the whole city.

In the late afternoon, switch up the mood and dive into Piccadilly Circus. This one-of-a-kind spot—described here by Bonjour Londres—is perfect for feeling London’s heartbeat before heading to Covent Garden for dinner.

Day 2: Museums and Lively Districts

After a packed first day, take some time to explore London’s cultural side!

In the morning, choose between diving into the treasures of the British Museum or, if you prefer art, heading to the National Gallery.

Next, wander around the West End. This is where you’ll find Soho, with its lively little streets, and Chinatown—the perfect place for lunch.

Then make your way to Oxford Street or Carnaby Street for a shopping session in some of London’s most iconic stores.

In the evening, settle into a classic pub in the centre to enjoy fish & chips or a Shepherd’s Pie with a good pint… Guaranteed atmosphere!

Day 3: The City and Alternative Neighbourhoods

For your last day, set course for the City, a district like no other, where ultra-modern skyscrapers stand alongside historic monuments.

Start with the majestic St Paul’s Cathedral, then walk to the Tower of London to cross the legendary Tower Bridge. Right next door, take a gourmet break at Borough Market—a paradise for sampling all kinds of street food and local specialities.

In the afternoon, stroll along the Southbank. If you have time, pop into Tate Modern; if not, you can still admire the street performers before ending on a high at The Shard or the Sky Garden—two incredible spots for panoramic views of London.

And if you’ve still got a bit of energy left, head to Camden Town! You’ll love this alternative neighbourhood with its markets, vintage shops, and food stalls from all over the world.
