How to join Zaragosa from Marseille by train?

Want to hop on a train and head across the Pyrenees to Aragon? Set your sights on Zaragosa via Madrid! From Marseille, the Renfe AVE will take you directly to Madrid, then another high-speed train will take you to Zaragoza (remember to type “Zaragoza” on the Spanish Renfe website). Ideal for a 4-5 day city break: you can enjoy the Spanish capital during a stopover... or delay your arrival in Zaragoza to savor both cities!

Detailed itinerary

From Marseille-Saint-Charles, board the Renfe AVE train at 8:04 a.m. (please note, there is only one departure per day) to reach Madrid-Atocha in just over 7 hours. Upon arrival, you can continue directly to Zaragoza by train, or enjoy the Spanish capital, strolling through Retiro Park, visiting the Prado Museum or the three iconic squares (Mayor, del Sol, and Cibeles). And if you really want to take your time, stay overnight to soak up the Madrid atmosphere.

Then head to Zaragoza on one of the many AVE trains connecting Madrid to Zaragoza-Delicias throughout the day (last departure around 9 p.m.). In an hour and a half, you'll be in the heart of Aragon: the Basilica del Pilar, the Aljafería Palace, the gourmet streets of El Tubo, and the contemporary art of Expo 2008 await you... We recommend allowing four to five days to combine culture, tapas, and getaways in the Aragonese countryside!

The itinerary includes 8h43 of transport and 2 steps.
