How to join Zaragosa from Marseille by train?

Head for Zaragosa! From Marseille, the Renfe Marseille-Madrid AVE takes you directly to Zaragoza, without changing trains.

This fast, comfortable, and scenic line crosses the south of France (Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Nîmes, Montpellier, Béziers, Narbonne, Perpignan) before heading to Spain.

It's perfect for a 4- to 5-day city trip that's 100% rail-based, combining culture, gastronomy, and the relaxed lifestyle of Aragon.

Detailed itinerary

From Marseille-Saint-Charles, board the Renfe AVE train at 8:04 a.m. (please note, there is only one departure per day) to reach Zaragoza-Delicias in approximately 6.5 hours. You will travel through Provence, Languedoc, and Catalonia before diving into the heart of Aragon. No need to change trains: you can relax, admire the scenery, and enjoy the comfort on board.

When you arrive in Zaragoza, discover a lively and welcoming city on a human scale:

  • the majestic Basilica del Pilar on the banks of the Ebro River,
  • the Aljafería Palace, a jewel of Mudejar architecture,
  • the gourmet streets of El Tubo and their mouthwatering tapas,
  • or the traces of contemporary art left behind by Expo 2008.

We recommend allowing 4 to 5 days to combine culture, relaxation, and excursions in the Aragonese countryside.

💡 Handy tip: to book your ticket, remember to type “Zaragoza” (not Saragosse) on the Renfe website.

The itinerary includes 8h43 of transport and 2 steps.
