From Paris, take the TGV to Strasbourg, the gateway to Alsace Verte. Before continuing your journey, take the time to stroll around the Alsatian capital: majestic cathedral, picturesque Petite France district, friendly terraces... Then hop on a TER train to Haguenau, a town surrounded by the vast forest of the same name, ideal for a nature break before continuing on to Wissembourg.
Once in Wissembourg, you'll discover a true medieval gem: half-timbered houses, flower-filled streets, ancient ramparts, and a Benedictine abbey. From there, a bus will take you to Drachenbronn and then to Fleckenstein Castle, one of the most iconic castles in the Northern Vosges. Perched on its sandstone spur, it offers a unique panorama and fun trails for young and old alike (remember to wear good shoes, as the site is semi-natural and the rocks can be slippery).
The return journey takes you via Wissembourg and Strasbourg before heading back to Paris. Be sure to check bus and TER train timetables as services may be less frequent at weekends. The ideal tour for discovering Alsace in a different way and without a car!
