Night train

Stockholm - Abisko

Thanks to the Stockholm-Narvik night train, you can fall asleep in the Swedish capital and wake up the next day in the heart of Lapland. For this itinerary, we recommend a stop in Abisko. This small town lies in the far north of Sweden, on the shores of Lake Torneträsk. With its two railway stations, Abisko Östra and Abisko turiststation ("Abisko tourist resort"), it is one of the best points of access to one of the very first national parks in Sweden and Europe. It is also world-renowned for its aurora borealis viewing!

⚠️ For your trip to 2026 The Stockholm-Narvik night service is currently experiencing disruptions.

  • Trains cancelled in northern Sweden
  • And work up to the summer of 2026 may force you to make a correspondence to Boden instead of a direct route

👉 Nothing insurmountable, but remember to check your itinerary when booking.

The step from Stockholm to Abisko lasts 16h20. You'll travel in a Night train (other) operated by SJ.
