How to reach Ljubljana by train?

From Paris, there are two options for traveling to Ljubljana:

via Stuttgart : high-speed train from Paris to Stuttgart (in Germany), then a night train from Stuttgart to Ljubljana
via Zurich : TGV Lyria from Paris to Zurich (in Switzerland), then an overnight train from Zurich to Ljubljana

If you're leaving from Alsace, the route is even more direct: from Strasbourg, a train takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach Stuttgart (compared to more than 3 hours from Paris), before boarding the overnight train to Ljubljana.

Once you arrive at the central station, you're just a short walk from downtown, and you'll have access to a network of trams and buses that will take you anywhere.

What to do by train in Ljubljana?

In Ljubljana, there’s no shortage of things to do: the historic center, with its cobblestone streets and castle, offers a view of the the Ljubljanica River and its picturesque bridges (including the famous Dragon Bridge). The central market, the Transfer Market, offers local specialties such as the potica and the region's red wine. You can easily explore it all on foot or by tram, in an atmosphere where history blends with modernity.
