Stop, let’s quit wasting time scrolling on social media right now. Unless it’s for travel tips, of course. Here’s our top list of accounts and media to follow immediately to stay informed about all the deals and tricks that will help you save on train tickets.

1. HOURRAIL!

This might seem a little presumptuous and slightly subjective, but we stand by it! Our team of passionate train lovers works hard to monitor and share promotions, deals, and tips daily to help you save on train tickets. Sometimes, our position as a leading media outlet on the subject even allows us to share exclusive information before other media are made aware. To maximize your chances of not missing out on anything, we recommend you subscribe:

  • to our "Locomissive," the weekly newsletter that helps you travel without damaging your carbon footprint or your wallet;
  • to our Instagram account;
  • to Tolt's Instagram account (and be sure to join our channel "Les voyageurs bas carbone");
  • and if you prefer other social networks, we’re also on LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.

2. Simply Railway

Thibault Constant, his real name, is a big train enthusiast, especially for night trains. So much so that he almost spends more time on the rails than off them. On his YouTube channel, where he communicates in English, he mainly shares what he calls "trip reports," in which he delves deeply into the technical aspects, describing the equipment, and talking about the experience on board and in stations... It’s THE channel to follow if you want to imagine your next railway travel experience and better understand how the industry works. Additionally, he regularly uncovers lesser-known routes or trains worth checking out. For example, he’s the one who introduced us to the alternative Paris-Barcelona night train route via Latour-de-Carol (click on "Itinerary 2"). He also made us aware of the Prietenia, the last Soviet-era night train in Europe. Be sure to follow him on Instagram as well, where he frequently shares deals and tips.
