The route passes through spectacular Alpine scenery, including the shores of Lake Geneva, the vineyards of Lavaux, the Simplon Pass and the Italian valleys: an excellent opportunity to enjoy the panorama while traveling in comfort!
Overnight train to Bucharest
🗓️ Good to Know: Seasonal Route
The direct Bucharest-Istanbul train, operated by CFR Călători, is not running from mid-June to mid-October. Outside of this period, you'll need to find another way (via Sofia, or bus + train) to get to Istanbul from Bucharest. Be sure to check when tickets go on sale before finalizing your itinerary!
And to make a reservation, we strongly recommend that you go to the train station to secure a sleeper berth.
