What to do in Northern Alsace for a weekend?
Wissembourg railway station is served by TER Grand Est and also by German regional trains on the Neustadt / Winden / Landau. The station is about 10-minute walk from downtown.
The easiest way to get to Wissembourg by train is to go through Strasbourg there are Direct TERs Strasbourg → Wissembourg without connection, with a journey time of approx. 50 minutes depending on service.
Trains depart several times a day, with approximately 18 to 22 daily trains according to sources, and the first departure to 06:35 on weekdays.
From Paris usually means taking a train to Strasbourg then a TER direct to Wissembourg. SNCF Connect shows Paris → Wissembourg journeys with an average journey time of around 3h30 and connections via TER.
Impossible to miss abbey church of Saints-Pierre-et-Paul the second largest religious building in Alsace after Strasbourg Cathedral. Then stroll through the old town: its half-timbered houses the Salt House the Maison de l'Ami Fritz and ramparts remind us of the rich history of this medieval city.
